Dr. Parimal Wasekar, MBBS, MPH, CHES®, is a distinguished Medical Doctor and Certified Health Education Specialist with extensive experience in public health and medical research. An alumnus of Johns Hopkins University, U.S., Dr. Wasekar is an expert in qualitative data analysis, systematic reviews, social behavior change (SBC), sexual and reproductive health (SRH), adolescent health, and public health communications.


His professional journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing health education, destigmatization, and anti-discrimination. Dr. Wasekar has played key roles in numerous impactful initiatives, including serving as a Medical Officer of Research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), AIIMS, New Delhi, where he led a research team and championed health education. He has also contributed to high-profile projects such as UNICEF India’s Parenting of Adolescents Program, WHO’s guidelines on adolescent contraception in LMICs, and research on tobacco marketing at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.
