Dr. Lakshmi Ranganathan is a distinguished clinical researcher and medical writer with over 15 years of expertise in clinical research and medical writing. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry from Vel’s University, Chennai, India, and professional diplomas in Clinical Research and Medical Writing.
Dr. Lakshmi’s vast experience encompasses all critical aspects of clinical trials, including developing clinical monitoring plans, coordinating ethics and regulatory approvals, central monitoring, and evaluating trial outcomes. Her expertise spans the entire lifecycle of clinical studies, from site selection and initiation to monitoring and study close-out. She has successfully managed multiple national and international clinical research studies simultaneously.
Her work has spanned diverse fields such as critical care medicine, sleep medicine, mental wellness, telemedicine, simulation, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. She has also contributed to Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for healthcare professionals and gained extensive hands-on experience in implementing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS). Additionally, she has conducted routine training activities through company-initiated programs and workshops.
Currently serving as a Consultant Medical Writer at ThinkRoman Consulting Services, Dr. Lakshmi brings unparalleled expertise in preparing and reviewing critical clinical trial documents such as proposals, protocols, synopses, and clinical reports. Previously, she worked with Apollo Hospitals-CCCG group as a Senior Clinical Research Manager, managing research activities in the Department of Critical Care across six hospital branches. She also served as the Site Implementation Officer for the Indian Registry of Intensive Care, managing multiple clinical sites across India and serving as the primary contact for clients, sponsors, stakeholders, and research teams.
Dr. Lakshmi is a prolific author, having published several research papers and presented her findings at national and international conferences. Her primary research interests include critical care medicine, respiratory medicine, sleep medicine, mental wellness, and exploring the intersection of yoga and healthcare.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Lakshmi is a trained dancer, amateur singer, and motivational speaker with a passion for the arts and yoga research.
